Before any engagement begins, I confirm that you are an attorney in good standing and licensed to practice law. This protects your clients and keeps the work within the rules of professional conduct.
- Bar verification. I confirm your license and standing with the applicable bar.
- Attorney supervision. You direct the work and remain responsible for it.
- Engagement in writing. Scope, confidentiality, and terms are set before work starts.
Unauthorized practice of law. A paralegal may not give legal advice, represent clients, set fees for legal services, or appear in court. I do not offer paralegal services to the public. All paralegal work is delegated by, and performed under the supervision of, a licensed attorney who retains professional responsibility for the matter.
